Amy Norrington/cello



Amy Norrington comes from London, where she studied cello under Alexander Baillie. She has received several awards in her specialisations of chamber music and solo performance. She continued her studies in the United States under Steven Doane at the Eastman School of Music. Amy now lives in Brussels, where she is very much in demand as a cellist. She is a dedicated chamber musician and has been invited by several chamber music ensembles to perform in concerts all over Europe. Amy is a member of the Quince Quartet, which is a regular guest at European festivals and in such venues as Wigmore Hall in London. She is also the cellist in the Arioso piano quartet in Cologne. As a soloist Amy she has played concertos by Haydn, Brahms (Double Concerto), Dvorak, Saint-Saens and Elgar. She has regularly been invited to perform with orchestras like The Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the La Monnaie opera orchestra in Brussels. Before moving to Brussels Amy taught cello at the Junior Royal Academy of Music.
