Annie Lavoisier / harp
Annie Lavoisier started playing the harp when she was eight years old. In Paris she specialised in modern music under F. Pierre. She is one of the last pupils of the great French master Pierre Jamet, a contemporary of Claude Debussy, who passed on his passion for French impressionist music to her. Annie Lavoisier has won prizes in several international contests (France 1980; Israel 1982; Munich 1983; Geneva 1986). Moreover, in 1980 and 1982 she was awarded the prize for best interpretation of modern music. At the age of twenty Annie Lavoisier was appointed harp soloist at the Belgian National Orchestra. In 1984 she was appointed to the same job at the Lille National Orchestra. In 1987 Annie Lavoisier started up harp lessons at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, where she remained until 1995. In addition to her activities for Oxalys, Annie Lavoisier regularly collaborates with the Ictus Ensemble. She also has several recordings for European radio and television stations to her name. She performs as a soloist in a number of orchestras. Annie Lavoisier has an extensive repertoire ranging from concertos with symphony orchestras to modern chamber music.
